Lars and the Real Girl (2007)

I almost went to the theater to see this, but was afraid I could be taking a risk that I would regret (obviously my time is incredibly valuable). But this film really made me smile. Since seeing Half Nelson I've thought that Ryan Gosling was one of the best actors of his generation and Emily Mortimer is just beautiful in this role. During the opening scenes you'll probably want to smack Lars for acting catatonic and not responding to anyone who speaks to him, but as soon as Bianca arrives (by UPS, I think) he perks up and the story becomes alternately hilarious and heartbreaking. The ending just might make you sniffle.
