The Wings of the Dove (1997)

Helena Bonham Carter is great as always. It begins as a nice period piece about social class friction and forbidden love. That stuff is always entertaining. But then it devolves into an unconvincing portrayal of an unlikely and unexciting love triangle, and that's when I started falling asleep. Since we're on the subject of HBC movies, I am really looking forward to seeing her play the Red Queen in Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. I won't spoil the surprise about who's rumored to be cast as the caterpillar.
