11:14 (2003)

11:14 is mildly entertaining, but you get the feeling that the director thinks he's a lot cleverer than he is. As if all of these non-linear techniques weren't already used in Memento, Run Lola Run, Reservoir Dogs, and countless other films before those. The ridiculously implausible plot might hold your interest for a while, but the way all of the different threads come together at 11:14 PM is such a stretch that it would've worked better as a parody. And even though it's still interesting how they manage to tie everything together, the film suffers from a lack of likable characters and the attempts at comedy are a little bit lame. Watch Go instead if you're in the mood to watch small-town kids get into trouble on screen.
