Sleepaway Camp (1983)

As adolescents my friends and I would suffer through countless hours of very bad movies because they promised lots of gore and nudity. When I watched Sleepaway Camp the other night, it was mostly for the same reason, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it offered very little of either and that it actually has many entertaining sequences, most of which are just related to normal summer camp stuff. Considering that this is an early-80s horror movie, some of the performances are downright Oscar-worthy. The murder scenes are relatively creative and it has one of the most delightfully bizarre endings of any film of its kind.
