I'm not particularly interested in scuba or freediving, mostly because both activities terrify me, but I was absolutely mesmerized by this film. Jean Reno, Jean-Marc Barr, and Rosanna Arquette are all fantastic. Watching Le Grand Bleu I got the feeling that the movie was made by an alien culture that posseses some sacred knowledge of the sea. It's like a beautiful dream about friendship, love, extreme sports and dolphins.
