Crank (2006)

If the running time were any longer I would give it 3 stars, but at 87 minutes this is worth watching when you're in the mood for a good self-parody. Normally, I would agree with Roger Ebert that wall-to-wall action is actually very boring. But when the premise, which is admittedly ridiculous, demands it, and you start to realize that it's the movie version of Grand Theft Auto, it actually works.

This was certainly a crazy one; I almost got sick in the theaters when watching Crank. I liked the non stop action of it, but really felt that the lack of character development and story were getting in the way of an otherwise enjoyable movie. Also, it was a little crude for my tastes only because the crudeness seemed unnecessary. Thanks for the review, I might have to give this one another look some day.

I admit that I did cringe a few times. The "I'm going to have to kick some black ass" scene, and the public sex scene come to mind. I don't know if it's worth watching again, but it was fun once.
