The French animated film Fantastic Planet won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1973. I'd be willing to bet that most of the judges were under the influence of some kind of psychotropic substance at the time. I probably should have been too. It's a little like Yellow Submarine but with a lot more carnage and a darker, trippier soundtrack. Not pictured above are the Traags, gigantic aliens who make pets out of tame humans and try to exterminate wild ones. Seriously, only watch this if you are a recreational drug-user.
