Even though I couldn't care less about the latest celebrity junk-food news or gossip, for some reason I am fascinated by movies about wealthy, dysfunctional families, especially those that take place in New York and whose main characters are precocious teenagers. Kieran Culkin is excellent as Igby, and everyone else is in their element here too, especially Ryan Phillippe as his jackass older brother. Not pictured above is Claire Danes as Igby's love interest Sookie Sapperstein, who wants to know what kind of name "Igby" is. Igby explains that it's "the kind of name that someone named Sookie is in no position to question."
