Snatch (2000)

When the Coen brothers make a film with no plot all the critics compare them to Mark Twain ("Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted...", etc.) but when someone like Guy Ritchie does it they call it a waste of time. I first watched this with some neighborhood kids while home on break from college. We were drunk and we thought it was the greatest thing ever made. Watching it again today, I don't quite feel the same way, although it's still entertaining. Sure, the plot is all over the place and half of it is shot like a music video, but it's got some good writing and some fine acting. And that adds up to enjoyable characters. I hope the Coens have some in their next film.
